PHILADELPHIA - Matt Rhule, head coach for the #22/24 Temple Owls, has been named to the American Heart Association Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year Awards watch list.
Rhule has led the Owls to a 6-0 start, the best start in program history. Temple is ranked #22 in the Associated Pres Poll and #24 in the USA Today Amway Coaches Poll – the first time that the university has been ranked in 36 years.
Presented by Marathon Oil Corporation, The Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year honor goes to the best coach in the FBS, as determined by the National Sportswriters and Sportscaster Association.
