Marcus Satterfield named coach of Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles

The chance to return to his home state was something Marcus Satterfield couldn't pass up.

Satterfield was named the new football coach at Tennessee Tech on Monday after spending the previous three seasons as offensive coordinator at Temple.

"As a coach's son growing up in the state of Tennessee, and coaching in the state and the Ohio Valley Conference, I have always looked at Tennessee Tech as a possible landing spot for me," said Satterfield, whose father Bill coached in the state at Greenback High School from 1990-1994.

Becoming the 12th head coach in Tennessee Tech history, the 39-year-old replaces Watson Brown, who retired last month after nine seasons.
