Stephan Listabarth’s first race in the United States was memorable.
The junior transfer from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria helped the Owls finish second at the Duquesne Duals in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Saturday, finishing first a in the 8-kilometer race with a time of 26 minutes, nine seconds.
In the Owls’ opening race of the season, Listabarth and seniors Alex Izewski and Matt Kacyon, who finished fifth and ninth, respectively, were the lone Owls in the Top 10.
“Of course winning a race always gives you a confidence boost,” Lisbarth said. “But I think we all know that it is very early in the season and the real important races are ahead of us.
