DENVER - In its 2017 BIG EAST Conference opener, Temple lacrosse had its five-game win streak snapped at No. 14 Denver in a 14-6 loss on Sunday afternoon. The Owls (7-2, 0-1) came within two goals late in the first half, but were outscored 8-2 the rest of the way by the nationally ranked Pioneers (7-1, 1-0).
Temple had its chances in the second half with a yellow card on Denver and a number of free-position opportunities, but was only able to get two shots to go. The Pioneers scored four goals to lead 11-4 before the Owls scored two of the game's final five goals.
