PHILADELPHIA - Behind hat tricks from Carly Demato and Brenda McDermott, Temple lacrosse edged BIG EAST and city rival Villanova (3-9, 1-4) by a score of 13-11 on Saturday at Howarth Field. The Owls (11-2, 4-1), who won their fourth straight game, remain undefeated at home this season.
After Villanova had a couple three-goal leads in the first half, the game ended up being tied on six occasions. The final tie came at 10-10 with 7:41 left, and McDermott scored in a man-up situation at 7:08 to put the Owls up for good. The Wildcats later cut a two-goal lead back to one, but McDermott secured the victory, scoring her third goal of the game with just 2:35 remaining.
