PHILADELPHIA – The San Francisco 49ers selected Temple defensive tackle Jullian Taylor (Glenside, Pa.) in the seventh round of the 2018 National Football League Draft on Saturday afternoon. He was the 223rd overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft and the second for Temple. Earlier defensive end Jacob Martin was selected by Seattle in the sixth round.
Taylor played sporadically over his first four seasons looking to gain weight while shifting from defensive end to defensive tackle. By his senior year, he approached 300-lbs. and became a dominant run-stuffer. He finished his 2017 season with 40 tackles including 10.
