PHILADELPHIA - The NCAA Fencing Championships begin on Saturday, March 25 for the women, and Temple will have two student-athletes competing and representing the Owls. Junior Safa Ibrahim (epee) and freshman Kerry Plunkett (sabre) will fence against the best in the nation at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Ind.
Ibrahim and Plunkett are two of just 72 women's fencers to earn berths at the national meet. They did so based on a combination of their performance all season long and their performance at the recent NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional.
In Indianapolis, fencers will compete in a round-robin format of five-touch bouts.
