NEW YORK - For the second time this season, Temple senior goalkeeper Haley Mitchell has been named the BIG EAST Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week. Teammate Alyssa Delp was named to the Weekly Honor Roll, also for a second time in 2015.
Mitchell and Delp helped lead the Owls to a 3-0 week with wins at #12 Old Dominion, at home against Georgetown and on the road at Lafayette, and Mitchell earned all three wins in the cage for Temple. In a BIG EAST Digital Network game on Oct. 20, Mitchell put forth a spectacular performance in goal, stopping 10 Old Dominion to shots give Temple its first league win in an upset over the #12 Monarchs, 1-0.
