PHILADELPHIA – Recent graduates Krissy Gallivan and Brenda McDermott were both honored for their academic and athletic performance, as they were among 12 student-athletes named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Lacrosse Team. The team is nominated and voted on by the sports information offices of 30 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.
Gallivan is well-known for her academic accomplishments, having been named to Temple's Trustee Ten three years in a row for having one of the 10 highest GPA's among all Temple student-athletes.
