PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's rowing team opened the 2016-17 season with eight top-10 finishes at the Navy Day Regatta on Saturday. Highlighting the Schuylkill River action for the Owls was a win in the freshman four race.
In the last race of the day for the Owls, Temple topped the 14-boat field in the freshman four event. The Owls "A" boat finished the race in a time of 17:44.37, 13 seconds faster than second-place Lehigh. Temple also took fourth in the event, as the "B" boat clocked in at 18:52.89.
"I think we came in with some high expectations and we're at a point where we're disappointed when we don't reach them," said head coach Rebecca Smith Grzybowski.
