PHILADELPHIA - Temple offensive linemen Shahbaz Ahmed and Eric Lofton were named Division 1-A College Football Players of the Year by the Brooks-Irvine Memorial Football Club of South Jersey in a ceremony held last night at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, N.J.
Ahmed, a senior, is a four-year letter-winner at Temple. A graduate of Paul VI, he came to Temple as a tight end and became a starting defensive end in his sophomore season. An unselfish player, he was needed on the offensive line and added 30 pounds to his 6-3 frame becoming the opening day starter at left guard in 2014.
