PHILADELPHIA - In a very evenly-matched contest overall, it was ultimately the Drexel Dragons who were able to convert on a couple extra opportunities to defeat Temple field hockey, 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Howarth Field. The Owls (1-5) matched Drexel (2-3) in total shots and shots on goal, but the Dragons made the most of their penalty corners.
The corner opportunities were just 10-9 in favor of the Dragons, but they scored all three of their goals on corner plays.
"There's a lot of things that need to be in play for a successful corner to happen," said Temple head coach Marybeth Freeman.
