PHILADELPHIA - The newest College Fencing 360 Coaches Poll has been released, and Temple fencing's ranking of sixth in the nation is its highest ever since the poll began in 2001.
Previously ranked seventh, Owls upset No. 1 Princeton and No. 4 Penn at the Temple Invitational on Feb. 26. Penn remained one spot ahead of Temple at No. 5, but by only a single point.
"I just think this is a tribute to the effort and work that these young ladies have put in all year," said Temple head coach Nikki Franke. "We're peaking right when we want to be, and hopefully we'll just continue to improve.
