PHILADELPHIA — The Football Writers Association of America announced its 2016 Outland Trophy Watch List on Friday, with 70 standout interior linemen from all 10 FBS conferences represented. Temple senior offensive lineman, Dion Dawkins, is among those recognized.
Dawkins has started 24 of 26 games at left tackle in the past two seasons and was a major factor as the Owls went from two wins to 10 wins in just two seasons. Overall, the 6-5, 320-lb. has played in 30 games protecting quarterback Phillip Walker's blindside and opening up gaping holes for the running game that resulted in a 1,200+ season for Jahad Thomas in 2015.
