PHILADELPHIA - The American Athletic Conference announced today that forward Mia Davis has been named the conference Preseason Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Davis was also the only unanimous selection to the Preseason All-Conference First Team as the Owls were picked to finish fifth in the 2021-22 preseason poll.
Last season, Davis was named AAC's Co-Preseason Player of the Year along with Cincinnati's Ilmar'I Thomas. Davis finished the season starting all 22 games for the Owls while leading the team in scoring (17.7) and rebounds (7.6). Davis was named as a Top 10 Finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award along with being selected to the All-Big 5 and All-AAC First Teams.
