PHILADELPHIA – On a day that forward Mia Davis broke the program's all-time scoring record, the Temple women's basketball team (10-9, 5-3 AAC) won in blowout fashion against the Wichita State Shockers (11-9, 2-5 AAC) on the 50th anniversary of Title IX on National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
Davis, who scored a game-high 18 points, passed Marilyn Stephens who previously held the record with 2,194 points. After a slow start, Davis broke the 38-year-old record late in the first quarter with a layup to help the Owls take the lead going into the second quarter.
