PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple sophomore Alliya Butts was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the period ending December 13. The guard led the Owls in a 2-0 week.
Butts averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 steals, and 3.5 assists per game, shooting 58% (14-24) from the field and 57% from three (8-14) as the Owls knocked off Sacred Heart and Fordham. Against Sacred Heart, Butts netted 24 points, 19 coming in the second half, also adding six assists and a career-best six steals. In a win at Fordham, she tallied 13 points with a pair of steals.
