PHILADELPHIA – Temple's first women's cross country conference champion Blanca Fernandez has been named student assistant coach of Temple men's and women's cross country for the 2017 season. While coaching, Fernandez will complete her master's of science in sport business through the school of Sport Tourism and Hospitality.
"I am excited to have Blanca join our staff as a student assistant coach this fall," said head cross country coach James Snyder. "She finished her eligibility in the spring of 2016 as the most decorated distance runner our program has had. She is a six-time conference champion, a four-time All-American, and has ran among high caliber athletes internationally, so we will look to her to share her story and experiences with the younger members of our program and show them what it takes to reach that level of success.
