PHILADELPHIA – Temple University men's basketball standouts Shizz Alston, Jr. and Obi Enechionyia were named first and second team All-Philadelphia Big 5 in a vote of the league coaches and select media. Alston has also been named the Big 5's Most Improved Player.
Alston became only the second Temple sophomore to lead the Owls in scoring (13.9 ppg.), assists (4.1 apg.) and steals (1.7 spg.) for a season. He joined Temple and Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Famer Mark Macon with that accomplishment. The Philadelphia native improved his scoring average by 11.
