FORT WORTH -- Less than a month remains until TCU men's basketball -- coming off its first March Madness appearance last season since 1998 -- gets the 2018-19 season underway. The No. 20 Horned Frogs tip-off on Nov. 7 with a home game against Cal State Bakersfield at the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth.
And as head coach Jamie Dixon enters his third season as full coach after a lengthy run at Pitt, there's a new assistant on his staff who is no stranger to the college basketball scene in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Dixon hired former UT Arlington men's basketball coach Scott Cross onto his staff in mid-April.
