Three takeaways: TCU eliminated from the Big 12 tourney in a 86-66 loss to West Virginia

Here are three takeaways from TCU's 86-66 loss to West Virginia in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament.

1. Pressed and steamed. All West Virginia wants to do with any opponent is wear it down with WVU's vaunted full-court press and take advantage of mistakes as the game progresses. This is exactly how things went in the first half. TCU kept up with West Virginia at first, surprising considering the Mountaineers are the No. 9 team in the country. But West Virginia kept turning the pressure up and TCU kept turning the ball over. The correlation between turnovers and deficits is a common one in basketball and despite playing better than expected in the first half, forcing West Virginia into 16 personal fouls and eight turnovers of its own, TCU still went into the half down 47-36.
