Count Fran Fraschilla among those who feel Texas men’s basketball is in good hands with Shaka Smart.
Fraschilla, the former head coach turned analyst on ESPN, believes that the Longhorns are headed in the right direction under Smart. The latest example is Smart leading the Longhorns on an NIT run, reaching the semifinals for a matchup against TCU at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
“This is a positive step for Texas,” said Fraschilla, who will be calling the games on ESPN.
Fraschilla mentioned several reasons for optimism when it comes to Texas, starting with a young backcourt.
