MANHATTAN, Kansas -- Oklahoma survived the test of Bill Snyder Family Stadium on Saturday night, but the win required a mixture of grit and Sooner magic that’s been dormant since OU’s upset win over Ohio State.
First, the grit.
No. 9 Oklahoma (6-1, 3-1 Big 12) found itself down 21-7 nearing the halfway point of the second quarter, its largest deficit of the season. The Sooners faced 4th and 4 from the K-State 44-yard line, and Lincoln Riley elected to go for it.
A failure would’ve given the ‘Cats (3-4, 1-3 Big 12) the ball at midfield and a golden opportunity to take a commanding three-score lead.
