FORT WORTH - Gary Patterson has nothing against longevity.
He understands why there’s an interest in his 200th game as a head coach at TCU, coming Saturday against CFP No. 11 Oklahoma State at Amon Carter Stadium. Patterson is just more focused on another milestone.
“I’d rather than get to 150 wins rather than worry about the 200th game,” said Patterson, who is two victories away. “All that means is I’ve been here a long time. That’s a lot of ball games. ...
“It’s hard to do at one place anymore.”
Somehow, Patterson has stayed put at TCU since being named the head coach before the 2000 GMAC Mobile Alabama Bowl following Dennis Franchione’s departure.
