TCU coach Gary Patterson touched on a number of topics on his radio show Thursday night, ranging from KaVontae Turpin’s dismissal to providing injury updates on free safety Niko Small and left guard Cordel Iwuagwu.
Patterson acknowledged it hasn’t been the best of weeks with Turpin being arrested last weekend for alleged assault against his girlfriend. Patterson suspended the standout returner on Monday and, after news broke of a previous domestic violence charge against Turpin last March in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Patterson kicked him off the team.
“I love KaVontae Turpin, but also I have a responsibility just like a parent does to make sure I do everything,” Patterson told host Brian Estridge on 92.
