FORT WORTH -- After going winless during the month of October, TCU football (4-5, 2-4 Big 12) emerged victorious the first time since Sept. 29 Saturday with a 14-13 victory over Kansas State (3-6, 1-5 Big 12).
For the first time since Week 1, the TCU won the turnover battle, forcing three takeaways and committing just one turnover as the Horned Frogs -- plagued by injuries, miscues and more throughout the season -- snapped a three-game skid in front of a home crowd at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
And for TCU head coach Gary Patterson, the final score, quite literally, lived up to what has long been his mantra in Fort Worth -- even if it required some fortuitous bounces along the way.
