The Frogs have relied on Emily Alvarado all season long, so it’s no surprise that the junior keeper came up big with the game on the line Sunday night.
TCU Soccer opened tournament play in Kansas City Sunday, bracketed against the conference’s #3 team after finishing 6th in Big 12 play. Alvarado controlled the box through regulation, notching her seventh shutout of the season and making four stops. On the other end, the Frogs had their chances, but Texas’ Savannah Madden was just as tough, stopping all nine scoring opportunities for TCU. Sophomore forward Messiah Bright was once again dangerous on the attack, but was robbed each time she saw a gap, including blasting one off of the crossbar late.
