TCU thumped Texas Tech (and got help from 14 walks by Tech pitchers) 12-2 in a 7-inning game shortened by a run rule. A big second inning put TCU ahead to stay, as the Frogs cruised to the second round of the tournament. TCU is now 3-1 against Texas Tech this season.
The Frogs scored six runs in the second inning, including four runs against starting pitcher Ryan Sublette, who was replaced without recording an out in the second inning. He allowed just one hit but walked five, including a bases-loaded walk to Adam Oviedo that pushed across the first run.
