MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- As a sellout crowd sang along to John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads," Gary Patterson and TCU players waited on the field to salute those who braved freezing conditions to cheer on the Horned Frogs, even if there was little to cheer about.
TCU (4-6, 2-5 Big 12) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead vs. CFP No. 9 West Virginia (8-1, 6-1), but was unable to make any early momentum last en route to a lopsided 47-10 loss to the Mountaineers, the Horned Frogs' largest margin of defeat in Patterson's 18-year tenure as head coach.
