The Texas Christian Horned Frogs entered this season with a Scotch Tape defense to begin with, and it has only gotten more complicated from there. On top of losing starting linebacker Sammy Douglas for the season due to injury, head coach Gary Patterson recently announced that freshman linebacker Josh Freeze would be away from the program due to an “indefinite leave of absence.”
Tim Griffin of the San Antonio Express-News reported the news on Freeze.
Though TCU managed to defeat Minnesota in last week’s season opener despite an underwhelming offensive performance, losing both Douglas and Freeze means the defense will have to play that much harder to support the strong offense.
