FORT WORTH --TCU coach Gary Patterson came to his weekly news conference on Tuesday prepared with a sheet of paper.
It listed a portion of the charges filed in March against senior wide receiver KaVontae Turpin, one of the top playmakers in the Big 12. But the most important charge -- a misdemeanor battery involving a family member -- was missing.
Patterson said he didn’t found out until Monday, one day after Turpin was arrested in Fort Worth on a similar charge. During Patterson’s weekly news conference on Tuesday, he said the senior was kicked off the team ahead of Saturday’s game against Kansas (2-5, 0-4 Big 12).
