Twice in one week at the College World Series, TCU faced Florida’s Alex Faedo.
That was two times too much.
The ace right-hander and first-round Major League Draft pick tamed the Horned Frogs again and ended their season Saturday night on the doorstep of the CWS championship series.
Faedo gave up two hits and struck out 11 through the first seven innings, matching the numbers he put up on Sunday in the opener against TCU.
This time, the Frogs drew twice as many walks – four – but couldn’t convert them into runs.
TCU was 1-for-7 with runners on base, 0-for-2 with a runner in scoring position and stranded five.
