FORT WORTH - Though it was a lethargic start from TCU men’s basketball Wednesday night at Schollmaier Arena, the Horned Frogs ultimately came together to post an 82-69 victory over Sam Houston State in the first round of the 2019 National Invitation Tournament.
Looking to avoid becoming the second No. 1 seed of the night to fall in the first round of the tournament, TCU took flight late in the first half and never looked back, sending the home crowd happy on a night that featured another pair of milestones for two of the team’s veterans.
Tides turn late in the first half
If there was any point where momentum swung for good Wednesday night, look no further than the timeout TCU head coach Jamie Dixon called when Sam Houston State was cruising on a 7-0 run with 6:05 left in the first half.
