Texas Christian Horned Frogs safety George Baltimore has added to the team’s secondary woes, having announced on his Instagram that he is stepping away from the game due to multiple shoulder surgeries. Baltimore’s retirement was further confirmed by Ryan Gerbosi of The Dallas Morning News.
Baltimore redshirted his freshman year and appeared in 13 games last season, registering eight tackles while playing primarily on special teams. He was expected to play a bigger role in 2015, but that will sadly not be the case.
The timing could not be worse for TCU, who lost three key defensive backs in Kevin White, Sam Carter and Chris Hackett and ranked 83rd in the nation in passing defense last season.
