FORT WORTH, Texas -- Chris Washburn made a long jumper with 1:12 left and TCU survived four missed free throws after that to beat Texas 58-57 Saturday night, the Horned Frogs' first victory in the series since 1995.
Washburn's feet were straddling the 3-point line when he made the final basket of the game, giving TCU (9-6, 1-2 Big 12) its first lead since the opening minute of the second half.
Brandon Parrish led TCU with 15 points on five 3-pointers, but he missed the free throws down the stretch. He missed two with 43 seconds left after being fouled on a rebound, then fouled again after Texas missed another shot with 19 seconds left.
