TCU basketball one win away from trip to New York City after handling Nebraska in 2nd round of NIT

FORT WORTH - For the first time in more than a decade on Sunday, TCU men’s basketball could celebrate a victory over a foe that once called the Big 12 home in the years prior to the Horned Frogs’ arrival.

The Horned Frogs inched one trip closer to a trip to Madison Square Garden in New York City with an 88-72 second-round NIT victory over Nebraska, utilizing a 30 point performance from junior guard Desmond Bane to send the Cornhuskers packing once and for all this season.

TCU had only been 2-7 all-time against Nebraska, losing four-straight matchups with the Cornhuskers as the postseason action resumed at Schollmaier Arena Sunday.
