All year, Kansas coach Bill Self has spoken of the tightrope the Jayhawks must navigate if they do not perform well defensively, or on the boards, or if their 3-point attempts do not fall.
Effort, however, is something he does not feel he has to coach. If the Jayhawks do not bring it, however, their deficiencies in other areas are too much to overcome and that's what happened in their last game, a home court loss to Oklahoma State.
Kansas (18-5, 7-3 Big 12), tied for first place in the conference with Texas Tech and just one game ahead of West Virginia and Oklahoma, must now attempt to recover in a home game Tuesday against TCU (16-7, 4-6).
