An hour-long rain shower postponed the start of a Fort Worth Regional winner’s bracket game Sunday between TCU and Virginia.
Ross Bailey, TCU Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations, estimated a 9 p.m. first pitch at the earliest for the Horned Frogs and Cavaliers, if work on the Lupton Stadium field could begin following the expiration of the last lightning detector alert between 5:30 and 6 p.m.
The teams were told they could leave the stadium and be prepared to return by 8 p.m., and an announcement was made to fans to expect “an extended delay.
