TCU got bigger along the defensive line today, with the signing of 6-3, 302 pound defensive tackle Karter Johnson. Johnson is the No. 34 defensive tackle in this cycle, per 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings.
Johnson was a highly sought-after tackle in the midwest, holding offers from Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Indiana, along with West Virginia and Pitt. He ultimately picked the Frogs, though, in part due to how TCU included his mom in his recruiting pitch. His April commitment didn’t slow down his recruiting, but Johnson stayed solid throughout the process.
There are higher rated players in this class for the Horned Frogs, but none may be bigger than Johnson.
