SMU hasn't been itself as of late.
The Mustangs fell to Boise State and had subpar performances against creampuff teams like CSU Bakersfield and Delaware State over the last week.
So is there any hope for SMU to reach the success it had under Larry Brown? One national writer believe this week's game against TCU will be telling.
"This is a sleeper game that will help us learn whether these teams are contenders or pretenders," wrote Sports Illustrated's Seth Davis.
Davis added that he is 'psyched' to see SMU big man Semi Ojeleye.
