Football isn't always a pretty sport. The Cheez-It Bowl took that to the next level on Wednesday night when TCU football gutted out an ugly but instant-classic victory over Cal in the Cheez-It Bowl at Chase Field in Phoenix, Ariz.
In a game that featured nine interceptions, failed trick plays, and a handful of other mind-boggling moments, it was ultimately Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs who prevailed when kicker Jonathan Song drilled the game-winning field goal through the uprights in overtime to hand TCU a 10-7 victory over the Bears.
It goes without saying that the game wasn't exactly for the faint-of-hard for the majority of its running, especially for Big 12 fans who are accustomed to high-scoring shootouts week after week.
