Kansas fired offensive coordinator Doug Meacham with six games left in the season Wednesday, ending the short tenure of what coach David Beaty hailed as a game-changing hire just last year.
Meacham had spent the previous three seasons as the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Big 12 rival TCU when Beaty lured him to the Jayhawks.
Despite losing Heisman Trophy contender Trevone Boykin in 2016, the Frogs averaged 31 points per game under Meacham and had a top-30 offense. This followed a 2015 season that saw TCU average 562 yards per game. While Meacham coached in Fort Worth, the Frogs won a Peach Bowl, Alamo Bowl and Big 12 championship.
