Johnny Rizer put together one of the more complete performances you’ll ever see in a TCU baseball uniform Friday to help TCU beat Texas 3-2 in the Big 12 opener.
Rizer made an outstanding catch to rob a home run in the fourth inning. Then, with TCU trailing 2-1 in the ninth, he cracked a double that tied the game and put the winning run on third base. The Frogs had trailed 2-0 heading into the home half of the ninth.
I have no words to describe Rizer’s catch, so just trust me and watch the video for it here:
Rizer’s double set the stage for Alex Oviedo to come in and hit a shallow fly ball to left, which Texas couldn’t handle, allowing the winning run to score.
