Jake Arrieta (P/Chicago Cubs) – On June 22, Arrieta pitched in Miami against the Marlins. In the top of the 2nd, Arrieta reached on an infield single, driving in Addison Russell and advancing the runners. That put the Cubs up 1-0. In the bottom of the 2nd, he gave up a home run to Marcell Ozuna, but that would be the only run the Marlins got. Arrieta went on to pitch 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 total hits, while striking out 3 and no walks. And for all those still wondering if he’s “washed up,” Arrieta said post-game that his pitching is “almost” where it needs to be.
