Evan Skoug’s two-run home run in the bottom of the eight inning lifted TCU to a 3-2 victory against Missouri State in the opener of a Super Regional series at Lupton Stadium on Saturday.
Skoug lifted a drive high over the right field fence to score himself and Zach Humphreys, who had walked to chase starter Dylan Coleman with one out.
TCU needs one more victory in the best-of-three series to advance to its fourth consecutive College World Series and fifth overall.
It was Skoug’s 19th home run, the most by any player in 14 seasons under coach Jim Schlossnagle.
