Baseball, for whatever reason, is a sport filled with superstition and unwritten rules. Players aren’t supposed to step on the pitcher’s mound, unless they’re pitching. Players aren’t supposed to step on the chalk for the baselines when taking the field. If you accidentally hit a batter on the opposing team, you better believe one of your players is going to get hit. Oh, and there’s one more big one.
You never, ever acknowledge the fact that a no-hitter is in process, even though everyone knows what’s going on.
