News has broken, originally by Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman, that TCU Athletic Director Chris Del Conte has been hired to fill the same position at the University of Texas.

This would be a huge blow to the TCU athletic department, as Del Conte has been responsible for so much with the Frogs. He’s extended Gary Patterson and Jim Schlossnagle, two of the best coaches in the country in their respective sports, to help keep them from leaving the school, and he brought home TCU alum Jamie Dixon to resurrect the basketball team.
