Two thirds of TCU Baseball’s weekend rotation was drafted Monday, as Brandon Williamson became the second starting pitcher to be selected in the first two rounds of the MLB Draft. Williamson goes 59th overall to the Seattle Mariners.
Williamson was considered a top prospect as a junior in high school, but injuries issues moved him down the draft boards, and he elected to go the juco route, landing at North Iowa. Recruited by the Frogs, he matriculated to Fort Worth after two seasons with the Trojans, where he missed most of fall ball rehabbing. Once he found his rhythm, though, he became a dominant pitcher for TCU.
