'Because he's our coach': Relief for TCU, frustration for UCLA as Jamie Dixon stays put at alma mater

Some 48 hours ago, it appeared as if TCU men's basketball was on the verge of losing its head coach that -- in seemingly the blink of an eye -- turned the Horned Frogs from a Big 12 cellar-dweller into an NCAA tournament contender in recent years.

Come Friday night however, basketball fans in Fort Worth could breathe a sigh of relief after reports surfaced that Jamie Dixon, only three years removed from returning to coach his alma mater, would not be leaving the program for the UCLA head coaching job.

As the week-long saga -- call it a high-speed roller coaster of emotions, if you wish -- finally came to a halt, it was a scene of celebration for the Horned Frogs faithful on social media, now knowing that the Dixon-era of TCU men's basketball isn't over just yet

TCU athletic director Jeremiah Donati, who reaffirmed Dixon's commitment to stay at TCU in a Fort Worth Star-Telegram report, even joined in on the Twitter fun:

"Because he's our coach," Donati tweeted -- a clever reference to a tweet sent last month after TCU reportedly cancelled a group-ticket sale to the Fort Worth Texas Exes chapter for the opener of TCU baseball's three-game series with the Longhorns.
