ST. PETERSBURG -- Ryan Yarbrough gave the Rays an inspired effort in relief to lead a 6-2 win over the Blue Jays on Friday night at Tropicana Field.
Yarbrough took over for Andrew Kittredge to start the third inning. After allowing a leadoff single to Dalton Pompey, Yarbrough retired the next 15 batters he faced. Included in Yarbrough's line was a nine-pitch inning in the fourth. The left-hander struck out four in his five innings to pick up his second win of the season.
Teoscar Hernandez drove in the game's first run with a sacrifice fly off Kittredge in the first.
